HOW TO SELECT YOUR WEDDING VENDORS.

When you’ve set your big day in stone, one thing that you need to do is start planning your wedding. As anyone will know who is in the middle of doing so, though, it is much easier said than done! Planning a wedding takes so much effort. It also needs you to pick the right wedding vendor, which is probably as hard as anything else. If that is the case, then we at Nashepa Gardens highly recommend that you start thinking about the following factors. This should help you to select a wedding vendor you’ll be delighted with!

1.      Don’t always go on your first impression

First off, many people who find their dream wedding vendor admit to being wholly unimpressed in the first 5-10 minutes in discussion. Don’t make your decision right away, though. Yes, first impressions are important. However, you can often work out even the most significant of issues if you simply hear out their pitch and process. Schedule an appointment with all potential partners and listen to what they have to say in full. It’s the only way you’ll know if they are “the one” for you.

2.      Know what your budget is

Most importantly, though, know what you can spend. Going to see vendors who are way out of your price range is a waste of time for all involved. Try and make sure that you and your partner set out a clear list of likes and dislike: what is a deal-breaker when it comes to finding out what you want?
Work that out, and you can make the process so much easier. There will be some must-haves, and some must-avoids, so work out what they are.

3.      Ask for previous referrals

You should always make sure that you look for client referrals. It’s not always in the price with a wedding vendor or wedding service. Sometimes, you can get double the quality for a fifth of the price! You just need to be able to listen and learn from referrals. If lots of people are saying the ‘cheap’ option is tremendous, but the ‘expensive’ option was problematic, don’t dismiss the court of public opinion.
However, always remember that you are a different person from the referral: you might have different tastes, opinions, etc. – so look out for similar themes in the recommendations, any consistency in the praise/criticism.

4.      Always get everything in writing

When arranging with a wedding vendor, be sure to get everything in writing. Prices, dates, times, plans – everything. You need to have written proof of everything from the cost of the venue to the extras that might be added. This helps you to make sure that you never get hit with some surprise ‘hidden costs’ that were never made clear. Without written proof, though, it’s hard to dispute.

5.      Think about sizing

When you are building up your list of people to take to your wedding vendor, think about who you want in your life as much as who was in your life in the past. Is John from High School or Tina from your job a decade ago, really a necessary invite? Remember that your wedding vendor will pick a lot of things for the wedding based on the number of people coming. If you want to keep the price fair and the recommendations realistic, think about who is coming – and why you are inviting them.
Keep these factors in mind, and you might soon find that choosing a wedding vendor is no longer the complex science it might feel at the moment. It’s a tough thing to get right, but it is by no means an impossibility!
