5 SIMPLE STEPS TO CHOOSING THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE IN KENYA.

For couples to be, choosing the perfect wedding destination can be a challenge due to the overwhelming options available. Whether you're thinking of a church, garden, hotel or beach ceremony, Kenya provides wonderful options that may leave you dazed. Nashepa Gardens has put together a guide on what you should consider before selecting a venue for your special day.

1)   YOUR BUDGET

The first thing and main thing to look into when selecting your wedding destination is your budget. Remember that choosing a wedding venue is much more than the initial price of hiring the venue, but rather, the additional costs needed to make the wedding a success. Wedding costs typically include the venue, transport, entertainment, décor, and floral design, catering, gown + suite, photographers, videographers, accommodation to mention a few.
Consider your wedding in a holistic way, and then start to break down your budget in terms of highest priority, all the way down to lowest priority, giving them the required percentage of the total budget.

2)   WEDDING PLANNER

The second thing we recommend doing on this list is Hiring a wedding planner, as they have the ability to transform a space to your liking. A wedding planners task is to help you know the capabilities of a space you want to hire, the layout, and items you would need to transform it to your preference. Kenya has a whole list of wedding planners who could handle last-minute tasks leading up to the big day, or planners who could plan the whole event for you, depending on your budget.
This would benefit you by reducing your stress levels, as well as benefit you by allowing you to be fully present during your big day. It would also make you more organized in general, as you would have the ability to take on your otherwise daily tasks such as focusing on your career.

3)   GUEST LIST

Thirdly, Your guest list plays a very important role in deciding your wedding venue and should be given due consideration. You should have a rough estimate of the numbers you expect at your wedding, to which you can use as a base to choosing your venue. Imagine hiring a venue without following this step, only to find out that the venue you chose was too small, or too large for that matter. Many a time do couples underestimate the number of people they or their parents will add to the list, leading to ballooning numbers.
Your guest list is also important because numbers associated with it directly affect the expense of your ceremony, as some costs are dependent on the number of people your inviting.

4)   VENUE

Fourthly comes the actual wedding venue choice you decide to make. This we recommend you do putting into consideration points one, two and three. Choices include whether you want to have an indoor or outdoor wedding, location of the venue, price of the venue to mention a few.
Nairobi and Kenya by that extension have a variety of wedding destinations you can choose from. Whether you want to be indoors such as hotels, or outdoors such as garden weddings, or even on the beach, the choice is yours. Luckily for us, the weather here is mostly sunny year-round, meaning that your imagination is your limit when it comes to the goals you set for your ceremony venue.

5)   CONSIDER GUEST EXPERIENCE

Lastly, When choosing a wedding venue, remember that you as the couple are the first priority,  but the second priority is your family and friends. Consider their comfort as well, when thinking about the venue you decide to settle upon. Ask the potential venues how many people they can comfortably support, and how many cars their parking can handle. The last thing you would want is your guest's number plates being called out to move their cars, instead of them being fully present on your special day.
